WE ARE THE BAND DArtz frOm welLINGTON, NEW ZEALAND

Four young adults sitting on a beige couch, casually dressed with drinks in hand, in a sunlit room with large windows and a blue patterned rug.

Clark. Rollyz. Danz. Crispy.

To some out-of-the-loop heathens, these words may mean nothing. But to those most discerning and in-the-know enjoyers of good music, they may as well be scripture, for they are DARTZ: the band from Wellington, New Zealand. Praise be.

Formed in 2019 after vocalist Danz shit-talked his way into a support slot for The Chats, DARTZ was only ever meant to play one show. But one became dozens, dozens became hundreds, and now the four-piece Aotearoa rock band has built a cult following with their explosive live shows and beer-soaked, boots-on-the-ground pub rock anthems.

Following the runaway success of 2024’s Dangerous Day To Be A Cold One, 2025 has been a full-blown victory lap for the DARTZ boys, with international tours, packed out gigs across NZ, and nods from all 3 of the country’s major music awards. It’s no surprise that DARTZ, the self-declared “best band in Aotearoa”, now have the silverware to back it up.

With two Aotearoa Music Awards in DARTZ’s clutches and a third album on the horizon, the New Zealand music landscape watches with bated breath. We’ve seen what’s coming. You’ll get it when the country needs it most.
